RICHARDSON –– In conjunction with the NCAA Division III Identity Initiative, the American Southwest Conference has released a series of promotional videos to illustrate “three D’s” integral to the division’s positioning platform – discover, develop and dedicate.
The videos feature ASC student-athletes, administrators and coaches coupled with highlight footage from many of the league’s 16 member institutions. One full-length, seven-minute version will be available as well as four, 30-second spots. One video was unveiled each day beginning Aug. 25, leading up to the opening day of the 2011-12 athletic season on Sept. 1. The videos are below.
“The ASC’s Division III identity project allowed the people directly involved to share their prospective on our brand of intercollegiate athletics,” ASC Commissioner Amy Carlton said. “The pride and passion of our students and administrators is reflective of the pride and passion evident throughout Division III.”
The ASC videos focus on four topics: Education, Leadership, Teamwork and Passion. The interviews were conducted at the conference’s annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee meeting last September in Dallas, Texas. Filming and production was completed by Happy Baby Productions in Tyler, Texas.
Division III is the largest NCAA membership division with 435 institutions. The division prides itself as a place where the student-athlete experience emphasizes academic study blended with passionate participation in competitive sports and opportunities to explore outside interests.
