ROCKWALL, TEXAS – UT Tyler men's golf will look for a bounceback day on Tuesday after an up and down day on Monday see's them sit in 10
th place on the leaderboard.
Round one of the day saw the Patriots come home with a +22 310, putting them in a tie for 8
th place.
Gage Burnham led the morning effort, shooting an even par round of 72 as he made two birdies and two bogeys along with 14 pars.
Luke Emerson,
Preston DeSerrano, and
Seth Campbell would round out the scoring for the Patriots on the first round, shooting scores of 78, 79, and 81, respectively.
In round two, the Patriots rebounded with an 18 hole total of 303, but slipped down two spots on the leaderboard to 10
th.
Campbell bounced back in a big way in the afternoon, leading the charge with a one under 71. He made a pair of birdies to go with one bogey and 15 total pars in a steady afternoon round.
Emerson and DeSerrano would also improve, each shooting 76 in the afternoon. The pair would combine for three birdies and 24 pars on their second 18.
Burnham rounded out the day's scoring, finishing his day with an 80 as he made 12 pars during his round.
Individually, Burnham and Campbell sit in a tie for 29
th place.
The Patriots led the tournament with the most pars on day one at 119 and they tied for fourth in par 3 scoring at 3.10.
The Patriots currently sit 21 shots outside the top four, which stands as the cutoff for medal match play on Wednesday.
