UT Tyler claimed the American Southwest Conference Championship in the program's final season at the Division III level in 2018 during a year in which Sam Hill, Tyler Uhlig, and Trystan Perkins all earned PING All-American distinctions at season's end. Hill and Uhlig finished the season as Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award semifinalists.

McMunn's first year at the helm of the program in 2016-17 saw UT Tyler finish as the American Southwest Conference runners-up and in third place at the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. Brandon Rougeau, Sam Hill, and George Toone all earned PING All-American honors at season's end, while Rougeau and Hill were both named as Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award semifinalists.
