UT Tyler Media & Public Relations
Philosophy: The Athletics Media and Public Relations Office at The University of Texas at Tyler serves as the intermediary between the University's 17 varsity athletic programs and the local and national media. In doing so, the office strives to enhance the publicity and showcase the accomplishments of all UT Tyler student-athletes on the playing surface, in the classroom and within the surrounding community.
Goal: To provide the best possible media coverage of UT Tyler athletics - including the department's student-athletes, coaching staffs and administration - by facilitating the requests initiated by various print, television, radio and electronic media members.
The Media and Public Relations staff also provides an expanding range of services to meet the ever-growing needs of the media covering Patriot athletics and UT Tyler fans. These initiatives center around social media, timely results reporting and assisting other information-seeking organizations and individuals. Additionally, the department serves as the chief public division of UT Tyler athletics, upholding UT Tyler's image as a top NCAA Division II athletics program in its relations with media, fans and other individuals wishing to learn more about UT Tyler athletics and its members.
