HOUSTON - The University of Texas at Tyler’s Paige Hodges has signed a
professional baseball contract with the Coastal Kingfish of the
Continental Baseball League.
He joins fellow Patriot Tommy Rozell who was inked by the
Kingfish earlier this month.
In his lone season with the Patriots, the Crowley, La., native
hit .335 for the year and batted in 47 runs. He had 60 hits, including
seven home runs. Hodges was named to the All-American Southwest
Conference second team.
Nineteen UT Tyler baseball players have now signed professional
contracts under head coach James Vilade.
The Continental Baseball League is an independent league
founded in 2006 and has six teams playing in Texas and Louisiana.
