Hodges Goes Pro with Coastal Kingfish

HOUSTON - The University of Texas at Tyler’s Paige Hodges has signed a professional baseball contract with the Coastal Kingfish of the Continental Baseball League.

He joins fellow Patriot Tommy Rozell who was inked by the Kingfish earlier this month.

In his lone season with the Patriots, the Crowley, La., native hit .335 for the year and batted in 47 runs. He had 60 hits, including seven home runs. Hodges was named to the All-American Southwest Conference second team.

Nineteen UT Tyler baseball players have now signed professional contracts under head coach James Vilade.

The Continental Baseball League is an independent league founded in 2006 and has six teams playing in Texas and Louisiana.
