The #17-ranked UT Tyler volleyball team will look to set a program record to cap off a historic season. They will begin their final week on Tuesday in Richardson taking on Texas-Dallas. UT Tyler would set a program record for most wins in a season if they come away with a victory tonight. The Patriots (22-1) took the first match of the season against the Comets (18-7, 13-1) in four sets back on September 25.
Â
UT Tyler is still riding high on the longest win streak in school history. They have won seventeen straight dating back to early September. They have breezed through the ASC schedule, sweeping nine of their fourteen matches. They have only needed to go to a deciding set once, against McMurry back on September 22.
Â
In the four set match earlier this season, Samantha Lee and Loren Guerra led the way for the Patriot offense. They both had a game high fifteen kills. Kaitlyn Budisalovich was not far behind with twelve. They will look to cut down on the aces as they gave up eight to the Comets the last time they played.
Â
The Comets have been riding a hot streak of their own. They are on a six game winning streak since they lost to the Patriots nearly a month ago. Their lone conference loss this season was to UT Tyler. Their defense will need to play a complete match and avoid giving up big rallies to the Patriots. UT Tyler had one in nearly every set, including nine straight points in the second frame that allowed them to take a 15-16 Comet lead into a 25-17 set win.

The match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
