SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The UT Tyler Volleyball team opened play in the 2018 Trinity Fall Classic on Friday afternoon against Texas Lutheran University. UT Tyler defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 to move 5-0.
UT TYLER 3 - TLU 0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-20)
Up 18-13 in the first set, UT Tyler went on a six-point run to open a 24-13 lead over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs rallied with a point before UT Tyler put the set away 25-14.
The second set saw UT Tyler use a seven point run tied 6-6 to open a 13-6 lead that the Patriots would hold through the end of the set, going up 2-0 with a 25-18 win.
A third six-plus point rally in the third set led UT Tyler to a 25-20 win and a sweep in the opening match.
