Quotable (UT Tyler head coach Lyndsay Mashe): "In the fourth set, I was just wondering how we were going to figure out to spark a win, and the turning point was our defense, which started playing incredible. Our defense was extremely scrappy, and that ended up making our hitters to go harder, and it was clear that the will and desire to figure out how to win came from our defense."
"This was a really good win as a whole, because everybody figured out ways to contribute. We've been talking about our offense producing more for us, and they really turned it around and figured out how to get rolling. Taylor (Stoops) really helped create opportunities for our offense to score by setting the ball really well."
"We've been struggling with our confidence, and it felt like the fight and the heart we had been lacking to some degree really came out today. Going into someone else's gym and winning in five really showed me that grit, especially when we're a young team which hasn't handled that pressure all that well to this point. This was a big turning point for our team right now, and I'm excited to see how we build on this."
