TYLER, Texas – Angelo State improved to 7-0 in Lone Star Conference play after sweeping UT Tyler's first-year Division II program Saturday afternoon, 25-21, 25-15, 25-19.

Hannah Callison led the Patriots in kills with 8, and three players reached double-digits in digs as
Kylee Becker finished with a team-high 16 digs.

With the loss, UT Tyler dips back to .500 on the season at 7-7 overall and 2-4 in Lone Star Conference play. Angelo State improves to 15-1 overall, 7-0 in the LSC.

How It Happened: The Patriots held their own early in the match, surprising the Rambelles with a 13-10 lead early on, but Angelo State responded with four straight points to take the lead for good in a 25-21 opening-set win.

UT Tyler never led in a 25-15 defeat in the second set, but the teams battled back and forth early in the third set with six tie scores and five lead changes before Angelo State used a 7-1 run to take the lead for good midway through the 25-19 third-set win.

By The Numbers: UT Tyler's best single-set attack percentage was .133, while Angelo State posted attack percentages over .227 in all three sets… The Patriots did not surrender an ace in 66 service receptions…
Savannah Guzman registered a match-high 26 service receptions without an error,
Kylee Becker had 25, and
Kyana Alvarez added 15… Becker and Alvarez each also served an ace… All nine rotation players for UT Tyler recorded at least one kill, and the only player without a kill was the libero,
Savannah Guzman.

UT Tyler Stat Leaders: Hannah Callison led UT Tyler's hitters with a team-high eight kills, putting seven of them away in the second and third sets.
Hattie Murray added six kills, and
Kylee Becker and
Christina Escamilla each added five kills. Becker's 16 digs were a team-high, and
Gracie Sutherland and
Savannah Guzman reached double figures with 10 digs each.

Angelo State Stat Leaders: Kailyn Gilbreath posted a match-high 17 kills, including 8 kills in just the second set. Sundara Chinn added 11 kills, and libero Makenna Hanssen turned in a match-high 18 digs.

What's Next: UT Tyler returns to the road for a Lone Star Conference weekend series across state lines next weekend, starting with a Friday night visit to UAFS (University of Arkansas-Fort Smith) before taking on Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 12.
