MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - The UT Tyler Men's Tennis team opened the 2019 spring season in Midlothian on Friday. The Patriots took on NCAA Division II opponent West Alabama, falling 2-7. 

Tomas Parra picked up a win for UT Tyler on the singles side of competition. Parra defeated Henrik Sinkko 2-1 (7-6, 4-6, 10-7). 

Michael Apple and Alvar De La Mano defeated Henrik Sinko Ilia Dehodiuk in a doubles match 6-4. 

Head Coach Adam Cohen commented, "Even though we didn't pick up the win, we played very well. I could not be happier with how the team played today."
