TYLER, TEXAS - #18 UT Tyler didn't allow more than 20 points in any set and hit .323 as a team to sweep Texas A&M-Kingsville (25-14, 25-17, 25-12) on Friday night inside the Herrington Patriot Center.

The Patriots led by 10 or more points in both the first and second set and matched their lowest allowed kill total and point total in 2021 in their ninth 3-0 sweep in 13 matches this season. Texas A&M-Kingsville entered the match with an 11-2 overall record, but managed just 30 points scored in the match while Patriots doubled their point total thanks to 49 kills for the night.

UT Tyler remains the lone undefeated team remaining in Division II volleyball with a 13-0 record, and extends their regular season undefeated streak to 24 straight matches.

Mikayla Ware had 15 kills and hit .387 while sophomore
Evelyn Torres had 12 kills and hit .364 for the match to lead the way offensively for the Patriots. Senior
Hannah Callison matched her season high kill total with 10, putting down those 10 kills in just 15 swings.

Texas A&M-Kingsville managed just 20 total kills as a team and posted an attack percentage of .066 against a Patriot defense that had 47 digs in the match. Libero

The three sets featured only four tied scores and one lead change as the Patriots built early leads in the first and third sets and never allowed the Javelinas back into either set. The second set proved to be the closest between the two sides as Texas A&M-Kingsville hung around to the 16-14 mark before UT Tyler rattled off two four point runs to close out the set.

The Patriots led 20-10 in set number one and 22-12 in set number three, limiting Texas A&M-Kingsville to just 10 combined kills between the two sets. The Javelinas managed just six kills in set number one and four kills in set number three.

Craus notched a double-double while helping manufacture the nation's top offense in terms of kills per set with 16, 19 and 14 for the three sets, posting 18 assists to go along with her 10 digs. Junior
Taylor Stoops was also impressive in her setter role, notching 21 assists throughout the contest.

Ware, Torres and Callison combined for 37 of the 49 kills for the evening for the Patriots, while
Christina Escamilla (6), Maiya Peña (4) and
Hattie Murray (2) totaled the other 12 kills for the squad. UT Tyler put down their 49 kills on just 99 swings.

UT Tyler will return to the court inside the Herrington Patriot Center tomorrow afternoon for a 1 p.m. start against Texas A&M International.
