TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler baseball will begin their annual Fall World Series on Thursday night and it is scheduled to last until October 30th. It will be a five game series between the two teams and all five of those games will be played regardless of series standing.
The Patriots are coming off of a fourth place finish in last year's Lone Star Conference regular season standings. This season will be the first year that UT Tyler is eligible for postseason play after the mandatory transition period for Division II eligibility. The program finished the season with a 25-15 overall record and a 23-13 conference record to finish just behind Texas A&M-Kingsville and right above Oklahoma Christian.
This season will see several top players return for another season. Arguably four of the best hitters for the Patriots will all suit up again as
Kyler Bumstead,
Jordan Gochenour,
Kyle McShaffry, and
Lukas Polanco all return. On the pitching staff,
Nathan Holmes,
A.J. Irvin, and
