WAIKOLOA, HAWAII – The University of Texas at Tyler men's golf team improved a stroke on their second round total with a 302 in round number two of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Jackson Powers continued his outstanding play for the Patriots with a 73 in the second round to sit in a tie for 24
th at five-over par with rounds of 72-73. UT Tyler will enter the third and final round in 11
th place with a team total of 605 (302-303) for the two days.
Colorado Christian leads the field with a nine-under team total of 551 (282-269) and was led by Cam Sandland, who fired a nine-under par round of 61 on Tuesday afternoon to lead the individual leaderboard as well.

Garrett Honeycutt fired a 74 on Tuesday afternoon and was joined by
Carter Lewis (77) and
Trent Pollard (78) for the other three counting scores alongside Powers for UT Tyler. Freshman
Jackson Naeger continued his quality form as an individual competitor, shooting 74 on Tuesday to sit in a tie for 26
th place with a 146 total.
Lewis sits in a tie for 45
th with a two-round total of 151 (74-77), while Honeycutt is just a stroke back with a 152 (78-74) total.
Alex Kopenhaver joined Naeger as an individual competitor, posting a round of 80 in Tuesday's second round.
The third and final round will get started with a shotgun start at 7:30 local time. The Patriots are set to tee off of hole 11-15.
