TYLER, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler women's soccer team forced another top Lone Star Conference side into overtime before eventually falling by a 2-1 final to Midwestern State.
Midwestern State, who finishes the day tied for second place in the Lone Star Conference standings with 24 points, needed over 12 minutes of extra time before finally ending the match by way of a golden goal in the 102
nd minute. Freshman

Kylie Criner into the back of the net in the 51
st minute to post the lone UT Tyler goal of the match.
Adje was electric throughout the second half for the Patriots, who closed the match with multiple quality runs into the Midwestern State box. The 51
st minute goal for the Frisco, Texas native answered a Mustang goal that occurred just 33 seconds into the game.
UT Tyler matched Midwestern State with seven shots on goal in the second half and two in extra time before Midwestern State's Emilia Nunez put a perfectly placed shot into the back of the net for the golden goal with eight minutes remaining in the second overtime period. The Patriots have now forced overtime against three of the LSC's best this season after a 5-4 overtime loss at the hands of then-ranked no. 21 West Texas A&M back on Oct. 9, and a 2-1 overtime defeat by Texas Woman's on Oct. 20.
Adje had four shots on goal in the match for UT Tyler, while freshman
Vanessa Bart added the other attempt on net. Adje and Bart each totaled five shots to pair up for the majority of the offensive attack for UT Tyler on the afternoon.
The Patriots will close out their 2021 campaign with a pair of matches this week, first with a road contest at St. Mary's on Wednesday afternoon and then the home finale on Saturday afternoon against Eastern New Mexico.
