DENTON, TEXAS – The UT Tyler women's golf team shot rounds of 308-304 on Monday in the 2021 DBU Classic to sit in 17
th place on the team leaderboard.
A loaded field that featured 14 out of the 19 teams entered associated with the WGCA Division II Coaches Top 25 showed a high level of golf on Monday at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch. Reigning Lone Star Conference Player of the Week selection
Raelynn Hardgrave posted a pair of 75's in round one to lead the way for UT Tyler.
Hardgrave sits in a tie for 34
th place on the individual leaderboard at 150, just six over par, illustrating the strength of the tournament field in Denton. #7 St. Mary's leads the field with a one-under team score of 575 (290-285) for the day. North Georgia's Madeline Ananthasane shot rounds of 66-71 to hold the individual lead at 137, leading six players under par for the tournament.
Freshman
Brooke Wagner played a solid day of golf alongside Hardgrave, firing rounds of 76-75 to sit in a tie for 43
rd place with a 151 total. Sophomore
Julia Kerrigan fired the low round of the day for the team in the second round, carding four birdies to post a 74 after an opening round 80. She sits in a tie for 60
th place with a 154 total.
Junior
Kaitlyn Charles shot a 77 and 80 to post a 157 for the day, while
Zoe Mayfield rounded out the scoring for the Patriots with a 162 (82-80).
UT Tyler holds a six-shot lead over a Midwestern State team receiving votes in the WGCA National Top 25, and will be within striking distance on Monday of a Central Oklahoma team also receiving votes in the national poll.
Play will conclude tomorrow morning at Wildhorse Golf Club.
