WHAT COACH MASHE IS SAYING
On what this year's senior class has meant to the program... "We've had a couple senior nights that have been really tough for us over the year, it's never easy to lose kids that have been with you for a long time. This is a big group that has impacted our program in this Division II realm and done some really great things for our program. They've helped us gain the confidence, lead the team and set the standards and done so much for our team. It's going to be a sad night, we're really close with this group and when you get five years with kids it's hard not to be close with them at the end."
On the leadership the senior class has provided to a talented crop of freshman this season... "I think the seniors have done a good job of including the freshman and newcomers right away and have made them feel apart which helps them get comfortable right away. They've led by example in the way that they're playing and holding the standards. Every season there are some bumps in the road, but they've done a good job of responding and continuing to lead. We have some really impactful freshman that even though they aren't playing and seeing alot of court time, they've been learning alot and seeing alot as we've been through this season.
On what the team needs to do to take their performance to the next level... "I just think our consistency. I think that's been a big theme the last several weeks, just everyone showing up at the same time. I think it's really important that our girls are playing really well together right now. We have to remember how important that is with the goals that we have set as far as our hitting percentage and defensively. When we're all clicking we see how good of a team we can be."
