LAREDO, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler women's golf team recorded rounds of 310 and 307 on day one of the 2022 Jack Brown Memorial Invitational to sit in seventh place on the team leaderboard.
Sophomore
Julia Kerrigan fired rounds of 76-75 to pace the Patriots in their opening competitive rounds of the spring semester, and will enter tomorrow's final round at Laredo Country Club in a tie for 12
th on the individual leaderboard. All six of the teams ahead of UT Tyler on the team leaderboard sit within the top 50 of the Golfstat Division II Women's Golf rankings as DBU and St. Mary's sit in a tie atop the team leaderboard after opening team scores of 299-297 (596).
UT Tyler's team total of 617 is six strokes back of Angelo State and nine stokes out of a top five team standing entering tomorrow's final 18 holes.
Senior
Raelynn Hardgrave posted a pair of 77's on Monday afternoon for a 154 total that sits within the top 25 in a tie for 22
nd place. Freshman
Brooke Wagner was next up on the individual leaderboard for UT Tyler with rounds of 77-79.
Junior
Kaitlyn Charles and senior
Zoe Mayfield each posted totals of 158 for the day, placing the duo of Patriots in a tie for 31
st place, as Charles shot 81-77 and Mayfield posted 80-78. Sophomore
Sora Kim followed up her first round 82 with a 75, competing as an individual for UT Tyler, and sits in a tie for 28
th on the individual leaderboard.
Tomorrow's final round is set for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
