LAREDO, TEXAS – Senior
Raelynn Hardgrave posted a final round 74 and UT Tyler moved up a spot on the team leaderboard into sixth place to finish up the 2022 Jack Brown Memorial Invite at Laredo Country Club on Monday afternoon.
The Patriots showed steady improvement in each of the three rounds of their opening tournament of the spring semester, firing a 303 team total to overtake Angelo State for sixth place on the leaderboard with a 920 (310-307-303) three-round total. Hardgrave finished in a tie for 15
th place on the individual leaderboard to pace the Patriots with a 228 (77-77-74) total.
All five of the UT Tyler representatives on the scoring team posted top-25 individual finishes, a feat that only team champion DBU could claim for the event. DBU captured that team title with an 888 (299-297-292) total for the tournament, while Sami Penor of Biola claimed individual honors with a three-round total of 215 (68-74-73).
Sophomore
Kaitlyn Charles and senior
Zoe Mayfield also put together solid final rounds on Monday, posting scores of 75 and 76, respectively. Charles finished in a tie for 20
th place with a three-round total of 233 (81-77-75).
Mayfield joined sophomore
Julia Kerrigan and freshman
Brooke Wagner in a tie for 23
rd place with totals of 234. Wagner shot 78 in the final round to record scores of 77-79-78 for the event, while Kerrigan finished up her tournament with an 83 in the final round to shoot 76-75-83.
Sophomore
Sora Kim competed as an individual for UT Tyler and posted an 84 on Monday morning to finish in a tie for 35
th place with a 241 (82-75-84) total.
The Patriots rise up the leaderboard secured head-to-head wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
UT Tyler will head to San Antonio, Texas on Feb. 28-Mar. 1 to compete in the 2022 Women's Rattler Invitational at Dominion Country Club.
