Raelynn Hardgrave posted a 73 and freshman
Brooke Wagner a 74 to lead the Patriots to a 306 in round one of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Ariz.
UT Tyler sits in 13
th place in the 28-team field stocked full of West Region competition at Palm Valley Golf Club, and holds the edge heading into tomorrow's final round over Lone Star Conference foes Texas A&M-Commerce and Midwestern State. Hardgrave sits in a tie for 13
th place on the individual leaderboard after her opening 74, while Wagner sit in a tie for 18
th place.
Cal State Monterey Bay will hold the overnight lead with a 287 in round one, the lone under par team score on the day to pace the field by 10 strokes. Gam Songprasert of West Texas A&M and Isabel Carpenter of Cal State Monterey Bay both posted rounds of four-under 68 to lead the individual leaderboard.
Senior
Zoe Mayfield shot a first round 79 and sophomore
Julia Kerrigan an 80 to round out the four counting scores for UT Tyler in round one. Mayfield will enter tomorrow's final round in a tie for 74
th place and Kerrigan in a tie for 84
th.
Junior
Kaitlyn Charles rounded out the scoring team for the Patriots with an 81 on Monday.
UT Tyler will get their final round underway tomorrow morning with tee times beginning at 9:10 local time.
