The Patriots fired the second lowest team total in program history on Thursday morning, and sit seventh on the team leaderboard following an afternoon round of 298

GLEN ROSE, TEXAS – The UT Tyler women's golf team sits seventh on the team leaderboard following rounds of 290-298 on day one of the 2022 Lone Star Conference Women's Golf Championships.

The Patriots completed day one 12-over par as a team at Glen Rose Golf Club's Apache Links course, and will enter the final round of the 54-hole stroke play portion of the tournament 10 strokes back of fourth place. The top four teams on the team leaderboard following the stroke play competition will advance to the team medal match play bracket of the event to determine the 2022 Lone Star Conference Champion.

Freshman Brooke Wagner posted rounds of 73-72 on Thursday for a 145 total, and sits in a tie for 16th place on the individual leaderboard.

Senior Zoe Mayfield turned her day around with a three-under par round of 69 in the afternoon second round, helping lead the Patriots to a 298. Mayfield joined Wagner after two rounds within the top 25 of the individual leaderboard, posting a 147 total.

West Texas A&M (564), St. Mary's (577) and Oklahoma Christian (578) all sit within the top four spots on the leaderboard heading into Friday morning's final round.

Junior Kaitlyn Charles posted rounds of 72-79 for a 151 total and a tie for 35th place positioning, and senior Raelynn Hardgrave a 161 (75-86) for a tie for 66th place.
