LAST TIME OUT

The Patriots went 1-0-1 in their first week of LSC competition as they drew with Texas A&M International and picked up a big 4-1 win over St. Edward's. In the tie with the Dustdevils, the Patriots produced a second half rally that culminated with Bryan Rivas-Guzman connecting on a penalty kick to tie the game and earn a result.

Against St. Edward's, Philip Akem Jr. found his second goal of the season in the closing moments of the first half, spurring an offensive showcase that saw three more goals added in the second half before closing out a 4-1 win.

WHAT COACH JONES HAS TO SAY

On last week's results: "It was great to get a point on the road. The away schedule for us is going to be a determining factor. Coming back home and preparing for Alumni Weekend and having the 2003 team back was huge and very unique for us. As far as the game, it was great to get a win. It wasn't how we drew it up, but it was great to get a win.

On playing #2 Midwestern State: "Yeah it's going to be a different opponent, especially being a conference team. That ranking is well deserved. We're looking forward to the challenge and knowing that it's just another tough game in our conference schedule. We know what's ahead of us, we just need to be as prepared as possible."

On the message going forward against Lubbock Christian and the LSC: "The road is going to be tough. Being at home is even more so because those are the times every team wants to pick up the W. Same for us, we want to win on Wednesday but at the same time we know we have a tough game Saturday as well."
