WHAT COACH MASHE IS SAYING

On her team's performances over the weekend... "We took a tough loss to St. Mary's on Friday night. Our team played very well at times but the minute we allowed the momentum to shift in the fourth set we were never able to regain it back. That should be a lesson learned for our team to understand the importance of finishing out a set. The team did do a great job of responding and finishing the road trip off with a win against St. Edward's."

On the impact Maiya Peña has made on the program ahead of Senior Weekend... "Maiya has been a joy to coach and always has a smile on her face. She has done some great things for our program as a middle over the past five years and I am so proud of how far she has come since her freshman year. Maiya will definitely be missed, but I am so excited to see where the future takes her!"

On the importance of this weekend's regular season finales... "These last two games of the regular season will be huge for our team and the future of post season. Both UT Permian Basin and Angelo State will be battles and they are both very different styles of play. Our team needs to focus on execution, defending home court and playing with the intensity and passion that will make us successful!"
