WHAT COACH PORCHE IS SAYING
On the 2-2 split with Angelo State:
"In hindsight looking back it was a good weekend. Anytime you can win two games against one of the best teams in the country that's a good thing. Two guys stepped up from our starting pitching and really did a great job."
On proving that they can hang with the best teams in the country: "I think our guys had a lot of confidence going into the weekend. I thought they did a really good job and they never felt like they were out of the ballgame. We've got a mature group of guys that have confidence in what we do as a team. I think we have the formula for what it takes to win at a high level in this conference."
On the early season success at home: "We love playing at home. The guy's love sleeping in their own beds. The crowds were great this weekend at the ballpark and we got plenty of support. Anytime we play here we feel pretty good about our chances."
