UT Tyler posted 61 runs over the weekend against Eastern New Mexico, which is their most in a series in the Division II era. The Patriots took three of the four games against the Greyhounds, including a huge 22-8 victory in game one of Sunday's doubleheader.
CONFERENCE AND REGION HONORS
Kaston Mason was an integral part of that dominant series victory over Eastern New Mexico for the Patriots, and he claimed both the LSC and South Central Region Hitter of the Week awards.
Mason hit .467 over the weekend while posting four home runs and 13 RBI. Two of his four home runs were grand slams, and he posted at least two RBI and an extra base hit in all four games.
DEFENDING IRWIN FIELD
The Patriots have had a tremendous season on their home turf, posting a record of 13-3 in games at their home ballpark. Eight of those 13 wins have been a part of sweeps, as the Patriots took down St. Mary's and #25 West Texas A&M. The Patriots have not dropped a series at home this year, as they took a 3-1 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville and split their series with #2 Angelo State.
NATIONAL ATTENTION
UT Tyler remains associated with a pair of national polls this week after their dominant performance against the Greyhounds. In the Collegiate Baseball Division II Top 30, the Patriots are #29 this week as they have moved up one spot from last week. In the NCBWA Top 25 poll, the Patriots are in the Receiving Votes category for the second consecutive week as they are knocking on the door of being ranked.
THE SCOUTING REPORT
Cameron rolls into this week's contest with UT Tyler at a record of 7-27 overall and 7-25 in LSC play this season. The Aggies have split just one series this season, their most recent against UT Permian Basin. They have won at least one game in all but two series this season, those against Angelo State and West Texas A&M.
As a team, the Aggies are 11
th in the LSC in team batting average at .273. They do have the fifth most home runs, fifth most home runs per game, eighth highest slugging percentage, and ninth in walks. Their staff ERA is 12.25, which ranks 13
th in the LSC.
Leading the offense is Trent Mallonee, who is hitting .356 on the year. He has 10 extra base hits, 23 RBI, is slugging .470, and gets on base at a .422% clip. The pitching staff is led by starter Drew Henderson, who holds a 7.36 ERA. He has thrown 36.2 innings and allowed 30 runs while striking out 27 and walking 16.

Following this weekend's series, the Patriots will head to Magnolia, Arkansas for a matchup with #10 Southern Arkansas as part of a home-and-home weekday series. That matchup will lead into the final road trip of the season for the Patriots as they head to UT Permian Basin April 14-16 for a four game series.
