WHAT COACH MASHE IS SAYING
On last week's wins over St. Mary's and St. Edward's... "Anytime you can get road wins it's definitely a victory. We were really excited about the way our team responded. We went up 2-0 against St. Mary's, and then they came back to win the next two, and I really saw a response out of our kids in the fifth. They really turned it on to make sure we went and got that victory. Super proud of them for that. Then to turn around after a three-hour match that was long and exhausting to go out and play really well against St. Edward's, I was really proud of our team. That's an easy match to just relax in after a quick turnaround, but I was proud of their response and the way they played. Our biggest thing moving forward continues to be just cleaning up the mistakes."
On the mentality of the team sitting at 6-0 in LSC play... "We're fighting and battling every single day. We have some really great games coming up that we're going to have to be prepared for. We have a big weekend on campus with the Fall Fest event, alumni coming back and just all that will encompass that, but our team just has goals in mind and they're working every single day to go and achieve those goals. I'm very proud of the way they are battling and the drive that they have right now."
On the outlook for the weekend's matches... "The biggest thing that we are going to talk about this week is that no team can be overlooked. We can't just look towards Saturday just because we're both undefeated and it's West Texas A&M. So we have to take care of business against Eastern New Mexico. They're a solid team and we're going to have to play well. We can't just giveaway free points, that's something we've talked about all year and will be another big message this week, we have to stop giving away free points. And then on Saturday West Texas A&M is good in a lot of positions and we're going to have to play a really, really solid game, but we're excited to be in our gym in front of our home crowd that I expect will help us along the way."
LAST TIME OUT

Kota Hartman andÂ
Autumn Perry to win another five-set marathon victory. UT Tyler nearly defeated St. Mary's in three on Friday night, but a 28-26 third set and 25-19 fourth set victory for the Rattlers forced the Patriots to put forth a 15-9 deciding set win to stay unbeaten in LSC play. The Division II era record 79 kills helped overcome 33 hitting errors and 11 service errors for the Patriots in the match. UT Tyler out-killed St. Mary's by a 79-to-60 margin, out-dug the Rattlers 94-to-82, but needed all five sets to come out on top after the mass of unforced errors.
