WHAT COACH JONES IS SAYING

On beginning the LSC slate: "Everyone is going to be out to win and not just win but compete. That's the first thing we are going to have to do (compete). If you're not going out there to compete and really fight, you're not trying to win."

On facing off with West Texas A&M: "Every game is its own game. We can't carry the results from the previous game into the next. Whenever we are going from one game to the next, we have to have the right preparation and mnake sure we are competing to win. Make sure we get bogged down on the results that just occurred and focus on what we can do right now to be successful."

THE LSC UPDATE

Action began in the Lone Star Conference across the board on Wednesday night, with only Eastern New Mexico beginning with a bye. Midwestern State, Sul Ross State, and Lubbock Christian began their conference slates with a loss.
