WHAT COACH MASHE IS SAYING
On a pair of sweeps in last week's long road trip at Midwestern State and Sul Ross State... "A long road trip for sure, but we did exactly what we wanted to do and got two sweeps, so I was proud of our team for doing that considering we were gone from Wednesday to late Saturday night. I thought we played really well against Midwestern State, but I think the biggest thing for us in really both games, was that we have to be a little bit more checked in in set three. We're doing a great job right now of fighting back when the pressure is on in those situations, so I'm very proud of them for that."
On the outstanding play as of late from Dakota Rogers-Hurtado... "I think Dak has really come along and into her own. She really is being that senior middle blocker that we need her to be. She is performing on an offensive level, but she is also doing a great job blocking. To break the UT Tyler solo block record is a big deal and I'm proud of her for also getting player of the week. We need her to continue to step up big for us going into the last weekend of the regular season."
On the final weekend of the regular season at Lubbock Christian and Angelo State... "Two very good opponents. Lubbock Christian is just a solid team that is very athletic and scrappy and plays very hard. We're also going to be in their gym, so we will have to be ready to go. Angelo State is having a great season and we're going to be there on their Senior Night, so we're going to have to be ready to play. At the end of the day you have to be ready to go play and win big games, we've talked alot about that. We are going to get our moment so hopefully we will step up."
