CANYON, TEXAS – Junior Kota Hartman was named the Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year to highlight seven All-Lone Star Conference accolades for the UT Tyler volleyball program as announced during the league's championship banquet on Wednesday night.

Hartman and Dakota Rogers-Hurtado both received All-Lone Star Conference First Team recognition, setter Saige Rivera was named to the All-LSC Second Team and Makhai Lewis and Autumn Perry as Honorable Mention All-LSC performers.

Rivera also earned a spot on the LSC Volleyball All-Academic Team.

Delaney Fuller of Dallas Baptist was named the Player of the Year and West Texas A&M's Brittany Harry the Coach of the Year to highlight the rest of the special awards for this year's All-LSC list.

Hartman is the third Patriot to be honored with a player award from the Lone Star Conference after Shaye Koski was named the Freshman of the Year in 2023 and Mikayla Ware the Player of the Year in 2022 and the Newcomer of the Year in 2020. The Decatur, Texas native joins Rogers-Hurtado with the fifth and sixth All-LSC First Team selections for the UT Tyler volleyball program.

Hartman ranked fourth in the LSC this season with an average of 3.86 kills per set, totaling 347 for the year in her inaugural season as a Patriot. She reached double-digit kill totals in all but three matches in 2024 and had four matches in which she went for 20 or more kills.

Rogers-Hurtado ranked third in the LSC with a .363 hitting percentage for the year and led UT Tyler with a total of 81 blocks. The McKinney, Texas native was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week on two different occasions and finished the regular season with 166 kills.

Rogers-Hurtado is now a two-time All-LSC honoree after earning Honorable Mention All-LSC honors back in 2022.

Rivera was a true difference maker after assuming full-time setter duties at the start of Lone Star Conference play, ranking second in the league in conference matches with an average of 11.89 assists per set. The Temecula, Calif. native totaled 832 assists during the regular season and led a Patriot team that ranked second in the LSC with an average of 12.99 assists per set.

She earned a spot on the LSC All-Academic Team as well for her combined efforts in the classroom and on the court.

Perry played at a high level all season in her outside hitter role, ranking second on the team behind Hartman with 267 kills on the year. The Wylie, Texas went for 10 or more kills in 14 matches in 2024 and ranked 12^th across the conference with an average of 3.31 kills per set in league matches.

Lewis contributed in a multitude of ways this season for UT Tyler, posting a hitting percentage of .318 for the season while ranking second on the team with 46.0 blocks. Her presence alongside Rogers-Hurtado at the net helped a Patriot defense that limited conference opposition to the lowest opponent hitting percentage in the league for the year.

UT Tyler will take on no. 6 seeded St. Mary's at 12 p.m. in Canyon, Texas in the quarterfinals of the LSC Volleyball Championship Tournament tomorrow afternoon.
