WHAT COACH MASHE IS SAYING
On last weekend's Senior Weekend... "It was a great weekend. We had the opportunity to honor our five seniors on Saturday and just really proud of the way we protected home court all season. It's always fun to play in the HPC and I thought our team did a really great job of handling some pressure moments, especially against UT Permian Basin. We were down quite a bit in set two and did a great job of just staying composed. Proud of them in getting two sweeps this weekend and we're excited to go on the road the next couple of weeks."
On the outlook heading into two weeks on the road to close out the regular season... "We've talked all year long about how we were going to have to be road warriors this year in order to achieve our goals. So that is something I think our team has done a great job of so far. We have so many people contributing right now, whether it's passing and defense, on the offensive side of things, everybody is playing a big role for us right now. I also can't speak anymore highly about our bench right now. I can count on any of them right now to go in whenever it's needed, but their energy and the way they cheer for our team, is something that makes me proud everyday. They are a big part of our success whenever we are on the road."
On some of the biggest differences in a team that has improved so much throughout the course of the season... "I think team chemistry is a big piece of things. Our team really does love each other and there is a really big respect for each other, which I think is such an important piece. We have a joyful team that are just joyful as human beings. They enjoy being at practice, they enjoy being on the bus and enjoy being together so I think those are things that really shine through in the way that we play."
