WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – UT Tyler men's golf sits 14
th on the team leaderboard following scores of 307-309 on day one of the Midwestern State Invitational.
Junior
Jackson Naeger led the Patriots with rounds of 75-75 for a 150 total at Wichita Falls Country Club and will begin tomorrow's third and final round in a tie for 20
th place. UT Tyler will need a strong final round tomorrow morning to climb back into contention in the field.
Odessa College will hold a four-stroke advantage over Colorado Mesa after rounds of 289-292 on day one. Odesa College's Adam Bresnu will hold the individual lead overnight following rounds of 69-71.
Senior
Carter Lewis posted rounds of 75-78 to sit in a tie for 42
nd place with a 153 total. Junior
Jay Shero improved on a first round 80 with a second-round score of 76 to sit in a tie for 55
th place with a 156 total.
Junior
Carson Wray went 77-80 and classmate
Seth Campbell 83-84 to round out the scoring team for the Patriots. Wray sits in a tie for 61st place and Campbell in a tie for 89
th place.
Sophomore
Luke Emerson carded rounds of 77-80 as an individual competitor for the Patriots and sits in a tie for 61st place on the leaderboard.
Tomorrow's third and final round will get started with a shotgun start in the morning.
