WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – UT Tyler shot 297 as a team and moved up two spots into 12
th place in Tuesday's third and final round of the Midwestern State Invitational.
The Patriots rebounded after a disappointing day one in the event to collect a pair of head-to-head victories over Lone Star Conference foes Texas A&M International and Lubbock Christian with their 913 (307-309-297) team total. Junior
Jackson Naeger served as the low individual finisher for the Patriots at Wichita Falls Country Club, carding a final round 74 to finish in a tie for 20
th place with a three-round total of 224 (75-75-74).
DBU posted a two-under par 282 on Tuesday to surge up three spots on the team leaderboard and claimed the team title with an 877 (294-301-282). West Texas A&M's Wyatt Provence and Odessa College's Adam Bresnu finished atop the individual leaderboard with two-under 211 totals.
Junior
Jay Shero carded the low round of Tuesday's final round for UT Tyler with a 72, climbing into a tie for 37
th place with a 228 (80-76-72) total. Junior
Seth Campbell matched that round of 74 on Tuesday, while
Carter Lewis and
Carson Wray each carded rounds of 77 to round out the scoring for the Patriots.
Lewis finished in a tie for 47
th place with rounds of 75-78-77 for a 230 total and Wray in a tie for 66
th place after scores of 77-80-77. Campbell finished in a tie for 82
nd place after rounds of 83-84-74 for a 241 total.
Sophomore
Luke Emerson competed as an individual competitor in the event and went 77-80-74 for a 231 total and a tie for 55
th place.
UT Tyler will return to action on Apr. 8-9 at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Ariz.
