LAST TIME OUT

Last weekend, the Patriots wrapped up their final regular season series as they took on UAFS. The series ended on an even 2-2 split after the Lions took games two and four while the Patriots took games one and three.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Rawley Hector has been on a tear. He has not allowed a run since April 5th, and he has not allowed an extra base hit since April 5th. In the two starts since, he has 14 combined innings, no runs, eight hits, and seven strikeouts, all while lowering his ERA down to an LSC regular season best 2.94.

In his most recent start against UAFS, he went seven full, allowing five hits, three walks, and striking out three to post his second straight complete game.

He is the first Patriot to earn two LSC Pitcher of the Week nods in the same season since teammate Dylan Blomquist earned two back in 2022.

THE POSTSEASON

This weekend will mark the third consecutive season in which UT Tyler will make an appearance in the LSC Tournament, all of which coming in the first three years of Division II eligibility.

In each of the last two seasons, the Patriots have advanced from their opening round series into the double elimination portion of the LSC Tournament. In 2022, the Patriots took down Texas A&M-Kingsville 2-1 in the three game set. In 2023, the Patriots swept the Javelinas in just two games.

In addition to the LSC Tournament, the Patriots are right on the cusp of the NCAA South Central Regional Rankings as they were included in the ranked order at number seven this week, with the top six teams in the final NCAA Rankings making the South Central Regional Tournament.

The Patriots last season qualified for their first ever NCAA Division II Tournament, making it all the way to the regional championship game before falling to eventual national champion Angelo State.
