WHAT COACH MASHE IS SAYING

On last week's first games against conference opposition...
"It definitely wasn't the result we wanted to have. We were right there in both of the games, but when push comes to shove we're not closing out. We've got to learn to finish and win in the big moments. There were several opportunities where we were up in a lot of the games and we've got to just maintain that focus throughout the match so that we can go finish when we need to finish. I'm proud of several of the moments, but at the end of the day, we've got to finish so that we can win."

On the benefits of returning to the Patriot's home gym... "There's nothing like playing at home. We have such a great atmosphere in the HPC and the girls are excited to get back home. It has been a long three weeks, but excuses aside it's time to reset, we've got conference play now so it's time to rise up."

On this week's LSC openers against Oklahoma Christian and Cameron... "Both teams are certainly good enough to win. It's something we've talked about a lot this year. All of the coaches across the Lone Star Conference have talked about how so many teams have gotten better this year and it's not that there are just six teams in the running. There are up to 12 teams this year that are very good teams. Oklahoma Christian and Cameron are both two teams that are good enough to beat anybody on any given night. We're going to have to scout and execute our game plan and take care of our side of the net. At the end of the day, teams are not earning their points against us, we're giving them away and we've got to stop doing that."
