DALLAS, TEXAS – A first set victory was not enough for UT Tyler in a 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-19) loss at the hands of (RV) Bentley on Saturday morning.
The match wrapped up an 0-3 weekend at the Dallas Classic for the Patriots. Junior
Kota Hartman led UT Tyler with 11 kills in the match, her second straight match with 10-plus kills.
UT Tyler hit .120 as a team, putting down 42 kills, but committed a costly 26 hitting errors throughout the match. Bentley managed just 43 kills as a unit, but committed only 16 hitting errors for the match.
UT Tyler opened strong, turning an early 12-8 lead into a 25-19 first set victory, but stalled offensively from that point forward. Bentley took a second set that was tied 19-19 in the late stages thanks to a 6-3 run.
The Patriots, who totaled 13 kills in the first frame and hit .171 as a team, hit .003 in the second set with 10 kills and nine errors.
Bentley had their best offensive output in a 25-16 third set victory and then closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth.

Autumn Perry each had eight kills for UT Tyler while
Addison Evans led the Patriots with 10 digs.
UT Tyler will shift their focus to next weekend's OB Fall Tournament. The Patriots will take on Southwestern Oklahoma State, (RV) Oklahoma Baptist and McKendree over the course of Friday and Saturday.
