LAST TIME OUT
Last week the Patriots took on #22 Midwestern State and Lubbock Christian and came away with an 0-1-1 record. On the road the Patriots took a tough defeat to the #22 ranked Mustangs by a score of 2-0. On Saturday, the Patriots battled back, earning a draw with the then-LSC leading Chaps on their home turf as they scored six minutes in and then with two minutes left to secure the draw.

THE LSC UPDATE
Midwestern State holds the top spot in the LSC standings with nine points, and just behind is Lubbock Christian with eight. Sul Ross State, UT Dallas, West Texas A&M, and St. Edward's are each tied for third with seven points.
THE RATTLERS
St. Mary's heads into the midweek contest at 1-3-6 overall and 0-2-1 in LSC play. Their lone victory is over #17 UCCS back on September 6
th. Their lone LSC point comes from a 0-0 draw with Lubbock Christian on October 1
st.
The Rattlers are scoring 0.7 goals per game on 14.5 shots per game while posting a .359 shots on goal percentage. Their opponents are scoring right at one goal per game on 12.2 shots per game and a .344 shots on goal percentage.
Luke Mulkey and Enzo Jaques are tied for the team lead in goals with two each. Six players have recorded an assist, with Mulkey also leading the team in points with five. In goal, Johnny Thurbin has played every minute of all 10 games, posting 32 saves and a save percentage of .762.
St. Mary's leads the all-time series at 7-2-3 and have won each of the last two and three of the last four. The last Patriots win came in 2021, but the Patriots have taken three draws since that win.
THE LOBOS
Sul Ross State is 5-2-3 overall and 2-0-1 in LSC play. They have taken down St. Mary's and Texas A&M International in LSC play. Their seven conference points point them in a tie for third place.
The Lobos are scoring two goals per game on 10.3 shots per game and are posting a .553 shots on goal percentage. Their opponents are scoring .90 goals per game on 12.5 shots per game with a .360 shots on goal percentage.
Individually, seven different players have at least two goals, and
Jose Ramos leads the pack with three. Diego Hernandez leads the way with five assists and also holds the team lead in points.
Benjamin Aviles has held the majority of the goalkeeping this season, starting seven games. He has made 34 saves and has a save percentage of .791.
The two teams have squared off just twice, with the Patriots leading at 1-0-1. The two teams played to a 0-0 draw last season in their first LSC meeting, and the Patriots took a 1-0 win in 2018 on their home turf.
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
- UT Tyler went 4-6-7 in 2024 and 2-2-6 in LSC play on their way to their third berth in the LSC Tournament in program history.
- The only coach in program history, Kenny Jones, is in the midst of his 26th season as a head coach and 23rd season with the Patriots. He is 243-106-64 with UT Tyler and is 265-134-68 all-time.
- 2024 All-LSC Honorees Oscar Sosa, Danny DeMarais, and Diego Cruz lead 14 total returners back into the fray as they look to push the program to the next step.
- DeMarais led the team in goals in 2024 with five and in points with 12. Of the nine different goal scorers for the Patriots last season, four make their return, and those four accounted for 12 total goals.
- As a team, the Patriots have scored 1 goal per game on 11.3 shots per game with a .339 shots on goal percentage.
- Defensively, their opponents are scoring 1.45 goals per game on 10.4 shots per game with a .421 shots on goal percentage.
- The Patriots have three players with at least two goals and seven with at least one. Luan Rangel leads the list with three goals, including one against Lubbock Christian last week.
