Women’s Basketball Ranked #20 in WBCA Preseason Poll

TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's basketball begins the year as the #20 team in all of Division II in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Preseason Top 25 as announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Patriots are coming off of a 25-5 season overall that saw them finish 20-2 in LSC play and make a fourth straight appearance in the LSC Tournament and a third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
 
UT Tyler earned 106 total points and finished the season last year at #14.
 
Grand Valley State was selected as a near-unanimous number one, garnering 21 of 22 first place votes. Union, Texas Woman's, North Georgia, and Gannon round out the top five, with North Georgia claiming the lone other first place vote.
 
#3 Texas Woman's, #13 Lubbock Christian, #20 UT Tyler, and (RV) West Texas A&M represent the Lone Star Conference in the preseason poll. Those teams, along with #21 Colorado Mesa and (RV) UCCS represent the South Central Region.
 
UT Tyler gets their season underway next week at the DII CCA Tip-Off Classic at the Trailhead, hosted by MSU Billings. There they will face Colorado School of Mines, Mary, and Nebraska Kearney over three days of action. That action begins November 7th at 4:30 p.m. central time, 3:30 p.m. local.
