Patriots Battle No. 1 Seed DBU in LSC Semifinal Loss

UT Tyler breaks DBU’s season-high for shots allowed and now awaits the NCAA Tournament selection show.

DALLAS, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's soccer saw its LSC postseason run come to a close on Thursday evening, falling 4–0 to top-seeded and nationally ranked No. 1 DBU in the Lone Star Conference Tournament Semifinals at Patriot Soccer Field. Despite the result, the Patriots delivered one of the most aggressive attacking performances DBU has faced all season, matching their season-high for shots allowed in the first half alone and ultimately breaking that mark by night's end.

UT Tyler came out with intensity, pressing high and dictating play for stretches of the opening period. The Patriots fired nine first-half shots—already matching DBU's previous season-high for shots allowed in an entire match—and forced multiple difficult saves. Melissa Oliveira, Brooke Mullins, Katie Wong, Marin Love, and Quinn Wolfe each produced quality moments, keeping pressure on a defense that rarely faces sustained threat.

Goalkeeper Robbi Curry delivered a strong first half with three saves, helping steady the Patriots defensively while UT Tyler continued to generate chances. The match remained scoreless until the final minutes of the opening period, when DBU found the breakthrough to take a 1–0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, DBU capitalized on quick momentum with two early goals to widen the gap. Emily Clark, entering at halftime, responded with several key stops and denied a penalty kick with a full-extension save in the 58th minute, providing one of the standout moments of the match for the Patriots.

UT Tyler continued battling, adding more shot attempts—bringing the total to 11 and breaking DBU's season-high for shots allowed—while the defensive unit worked to limit further damage. DBU added one final goal in the 70th minute to close the scoring.

The Patriots finished with 11 shots and four on target, the most any opponent has produced against DBU this year. Curry and Clark combined for six saves as UT Tyler went toe-to-toe with the nation's top-ranked program.

Now 11-3-5 overall, UT Tyler will await the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship selection show to learn whether the team earns a berth in the national tournament field.
