PATRIOTS NEWS AND NOTES
  • UT Tyler went 18-9 overall in 2024 with a 14-2 record in the LSC. They qualified for their 4th straight NCAA South Central Regional Tournament and finished 3rd in the LSC Standings.
  • The Patriots are led by head coach Lyndsay Mashe who is in her 10th season with the program and 20th year as a head coach. She is 177-82 (.683) with the Patriots and 371-204 (.645) overall.
  • Coach Mashe is joined by her husband and Associate Head Coach Kris Mashe, who has been at her side throughout all 20 years of her tenure.
  • UT Tyler will return their three highest offensive players in terms of kills from 2024 as Kota Hartman, Autumn Perry, and Jackie Velzis come back. Hartman, the reigning LSC Newcomer of the Year, had 399 kills and hit .216 to average 3.87 kills per set.
  • Saige Rivera, the Preseason LSC Setter of the Year, will look to build on a season that saw her total 995 assists for an average of 9.85 per set. She also had a strong year at the service line, picking up 24 aces to post the third most on the team.
  • Of the 10 players that played at least 70 sets last season, seven will make their return in one of the strongest returning classes in recent seasons.
  • As a team the Patriots are 14-11 in 2025 and are 10-5 in LSC play. They are hitting .206 and holding opponents to .190 while posting 12.6 assists per set, 13.5 kills per set, and 17.1 digs per set.
  • Autumn Perry leads the Patriots with 286 kills and Alyson Robbins has a .336 attack percentage to lead the team with those over 20 kills. Saige Rivera has 631 assists thus far, and Anna Arceneaux has 350 total digs.
  • Perry ranks fifth overall in the LSC in kills per set at 3.49 and is eighth in points per set at 3.83. Saige Rivera ranks sixth in the LSC in assists per set at 7.51 and is fifth in total assists. Freshman Anna Arceneaux is fourth in digs per set at 4.73.
 
THE LSC UPDATE
 
With just one weekend of play remaining, Lubbock Christian remains atop the LSC standings at 15-2 but they have wrapped up their LSC slate for the year. West Texas A&M and Angelo State are at 13-2, Texas Woman's is 11-4, and Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, and St. Mary's are each 10-5. As it stands, the final spot in the LSC Tournament would go to Oklahoma Christian, who is 9-6 overall.
 
THE PIONEERS
 
Texas Woman's is 18-8 overall and 11-4 in LSC play while riding a three match win streak.
 
The Pioneers are hitting .208 as a team with 13.0 kills per set, 12.1 assists per set, and 19.6 digs per set. Individually they are led on offense by the trio of Tori Woods, Myracle Stockman, and Sydney Garrison, who each have over 200 kills on the year. Kiana Reed runs the offense with 595 assists, and Alyssa Rojo has posted 533 digs on the defensive side.
 
UT Tyler leads the all-time series at 8-4 overall but have fallen in two of the last three matchups. The Pioneers took a 3-0 win back on September 12th this year in non-conference action.
 
THE PATRIOTS
 
DBU is 12-11 on the year and 6-9 in LSC play and recently snapped a seven match losing streak with a win over Cameron last Saturday.
 
The Patriots are hitting .207 as a team with 11.4 assists per set, 12.8 kills per set, and 16.0 digs per set. Individually, Karly Wells has 404 kills and leads the LSC in kills per set by over a kill over the next highest player. Paityn Winters and Madisyn Jones each have over 300 assists, and Blue Anderson leads the defense with 297 digs.
 
DBU leads the all-time matchup at 7-6, but the Patriots won the most recent matchup in October of 2024, snapping a four match losing streak.
 
LAST TIME OUT
 
Last week the Patriots went 1-1, falling in a sweep to Texas A&M-Kingsville before rebounding with a 3-0 sweep of Texas A&M International. Against the Dustdevils, Alyson Robbins collected 14 kills on a .684 percentage while Riley Clinton dished out 16 assists as the Patriots hit .304 as a team.
