THE LSC TOURNAMENT

Angelo State has earned a share of the 2025 LSC Regular Season title and by virtue of tiebreaker have earned the number one seed and will host the LSC postseason tournament at the Junell Center-Stephens Arena in San Angelo, Texas.

UT Tyler is the #5 seed after finishing in a tie for fourth in the regular season and dropping their tiebreaker to St. Mary's. That means they will face off with the Rattlers in the quarterfinal round.

Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, West Texas A&M, St. Mary's, UT Tyler, Texas Woman's, Oklahoma Christian, and Texas A&M-Kingsville compose this year's field. This will be the sixth straight year that the Patriots have made an appearance, and they hold a 4-5 record in the tournament, with their best appearance coming in the Spring 2021 season in which they marched to the LSC Championship game inside the HPC.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Anna Arceneaux earned the LSC Freshman of the Week honor for the final regular season week of the year. She totaled 46 digs over two games while adding in four aces as the Patriots went 2-0. Against Texas Woman's, she added 33 digs alone with two aces as the Patriots reverse swept the Pioneers for a huge LSC win.

PATRIOTS NEWS AND NOTES
- UT Tyler went 18-9 overall in 2024 with a 14-2 record in the LSC. They qualified for their 4th straight NCAA South Central Regional Tournament and finished 3rd in the LSC Standings.
- The Patriots are led by head coach Lyndsay Mashe who is in her 10th season with the program and 20th year as a head coach. She is 179-82 (.686) with the Patriots and 373-204 (.646) overall.
- Coach Mashe is joined by her husband and Associate Head Coach Kris Mashe, who has been at her side throughout all 20 years of her tenure.
- UT Tyler will return their three highest offensive players in terms of kills from 2024 as Kota Hartman, Autumn Perry, and Jackie Velzis come back. Hartman, the reigning LSC Newcomer of the Year, had 399 kills and hit .216 to average 3.87 kills per set.
- Saige Rivera, the Preseason LSC Setter of the Year, will look to build on a season that saw her total 995 assists for an average of 9.85 per set. She also had a strong year at the service line, picking up 24 aces to post the third most on the team.
- Of the 10 players that played at least 70 sets last season, seven will make their return in one of the strongest returning classes in recent seasons.
- As a team the Patriots finished the regular season 16-11 in 2025 and 12-5 in LSC play. They are hitting .209 and holding opponents to .189 while posting 12.6 assists per set, 13.5 kills per set, and 17.1 digs per set.
- Autumn Perry leads the Patriots with 317 kills and Alyson Robbins has a .308 attack percentage to lead the team with those over 20 kills. Saige Rivera has 689 assists thus far, and Anna Arceneaux has 396 total digs.
- Perry ranks fifth overall in the LSC in kills per set at 3.52 and is seventh in points per set at 3.88. Saige Rivera ranks sixth in the LSC in assists per set at 7.49 and is sixth in total assists. Freshman Anna Arceneaux is fourth in digs per set at 4.83.

THE RATTLERS

St. Mary's will head into the matchup 15-12 overall and finished the regular season 12-5 in LSC play. They are coming into the tournament as winners of their last two and eight of their last nine.

The Rattlers are hitting .189 on the year while posting 11.9 kills per set, 10.9 assists per set, and 17 digs per set. Their opponents are hitting .187 with 12.8 digs per set, 12.2 assists per set, and 18.9 digs per set.

Individually, the pair of Landri Withers and Laurene Robinson have each posted over 300 kills to lead the Rattlers on offense. Haleigh Wilk has dished out 558 assists to lead the team, and Alyssa Koehl has totaled 584 digs to lead the way on defense.

The two teams met on October 28
th this year in San Antonio, where the Rattlers took a 3-0 sweep.
Autumn Perry led the way for UT Tyler with 12 kills, and
Saige Rivera dished out 22 assists.

Last year in the LSC Tournament, these two teams met in the first round of play. UT Tyler took the first two sets, but St. Mary's responded with wins in the next two sets. That set up the tiebreaking fifth set, where the Patriots won 15-12.
Kota Hartman had 21 kills in that matchup, and
Jackie Velzis added 13 more while Rivera had 56 total assists.
