PATRIOTS NEWS AND NOTES
  • UT Tyler went 18-9 overall in 2024 with a 14-2 record in the LSC. They qualified for their 4th straight NCAA South Central Regional Tournament and finished 3rd in the LSC Standings.
  • The Patriots are led by head coach Lyndsay Mashe who is in her 10th season with the program and 20th year as a head coach. She is 176-81 (.685) with the Patriots and 370-203 (.646) overall.
  • Coach Mashe is joined by her husband and Associate Head Coach Kris Mashe, who has been at her side throughout all 20 years of her tenure.
  • UT Tyler will return their three highest offensive players in terms of kills from 2024 as Kota HartmanAutumn Perry, and Jackie Velzis come back. Hartman, the reigning LSC Newcomer of the Year, had 399 kills and hit .216 to average 3.87 kills per set.
  • Saige Rivera, the Preseason LSC Setter of the Year, will look to build on a season that saw her total 995 assists for an average of 9.85 per set. She also had a strong year at the service line, picking up 24 aces to post the third most on the team.
  • Of the 10 players that played at least 70 sets last season, seven will make their return in one of the strongest returning classes in recent seasons.
  • As a team the Patriots are 13-10 in 2025 and are 9-4 in LSC play. They are hitting .206 and holding opponents to .190 while posting 12.8 assists per set, 13.6 kills per set, and 17.5 digs per set.
  • Autumn Perry leads the Patriots with 274 kills and Alyson Robbins has a .309 attack percentage to lead the team with those over 20 kills. Saige Rivera has 604 assists thus far, and Anna Arceneaux has 344 total digs.
  • Perry ranks fourth overall in the LSC in kills per set at 3.61 and is fifth in points per set at 3.93. Saige Rivera ranks sixth in the LSC in assists per set at 7.74 and is fifth in total assists. Freshman Anna Arceneaux is sixth in digs per set at 4.78.
 
THE JAVELINAS
 
Texas A&M-Kingsville is 16-7 overall and 8-5 in LSC play. They are riding a two match win streak after beating DBU and Texas A&M International last week.
 
They are hitting .228 as a team and holding opponents to .164. Rylan Pollard and Kendall Harrington lead the offensive charge with 268 and 237 kills each. Elisa Carli leads the team with 487 assists, and Pollard is second with 427. Defensively, three players have posted over 200 digs, with Monique Gonzalez leading the charge at 283.
 
All time, the Patriots lead the matchup at 5-3. They won the most recent matchup in October of 2024, and they also hold the longest winning streak at four games from 2021-2022.
 
THE DUSTDEVILS
 
Texas A&M International is 4-18 overall and 2-11 in LSC play this season. They dropped their two matches last week but took down Midwestern State back on October 25th.
 
As a team the Dustdevils are hitting just .131 while their opponents are up to .238. The attack is led by Mia Molina, who has 202 kills on the year on a .132 percentage. Natalia Cisneros has posted 410 assists to command the offense, and Samantha Estrada leads the team in digs at 294.
 
UT Tyler leads the matchup at 4-2 all-time. The two teams have split their last four matchups, with the Patriots winning the most recent game in 2024.
 
LSC UPDATE
 
Lubbock Christian remains atop the conference at 13-1 overall. West Texas A&M and Angelo State share the second spot at 11-2, and Texas Woman's, UT Tyler, and St. Mary's are all tied at 9-4. The top eight seeds will make the LSC Tournament at the end of the year, hosted by the number one seed.
 
LAST TIME OUT
 
Last week the Patriots went 2-1, with a loss to St. Mary's last Tuesday before dropping both Sul Ross State and Western New Mexico in sweeps last weekend. Those wins were their sixth and seventh LSC sweeps of the season.
