UT Tyler Baseball Continues Historic Climb in National Polls

TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler baseball continues its rise in the national rankings, making strides in both the ABCA and NCBWA polls while holding strong in the D2 Baseball rankings following a series split against West Texas A&M. The Patriots now boast a 19-6 record on the season.

In this week's D2 Baseball poll, UT Tyler remains at No. 4. The Lone Star Conference is well represented, with No. 5 Angelo State, No. 23 St. Edward's, and West Texas A&M receiving votes.

The ABCA Coaches Poll saw the Patriots climb to No. 2, improving from last week's No. 3 ranking. This marks the fourth regular-season ABCA poll, featuring additional LSC teams: No. 4 Angelo State, No. 15 St. Edward's, and No. 30 West Texas A&M.

UT Tyler also made a significant jump in the latest NCBWA Top 25 rankings, moving up to No. 4. Angelo State follows at No. 6, while St. Edward's sits at No. 14.

These rankings mark the highest national positioning the Patriots have achieved in any of the three major Division II polls since transitioning to DII. The No. 2 ranking in the ABCA poll is the highest ranking ever in program history.

The Patriots have put together an explosive offense early in the year, ranking 7th in Division II in doubles with 53. They also rank 5th in hits, 16th in batting average, 16th in walks, 9th in runs, and 22nd in on-base percentage.

The pitching staff has been dominant so far in the season, ranking 14th in Division II in ERA at 3.49. They also rank 22nd in Division II in shutouts with 4 and 10th in complete games thrown.

UT Tyler will head to Eastern New Mexico to start a four-game series beginning Saturday at 1 p.m.
