UT Tyler Baseball Stays in Top Ten of National Polls

TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler baseball remains in the top ten of the national rankings, holding spots in the ABCA, NCBWA, and D2 Baseball polls after splitting a series against Eastern New Mexico. The Patriots now stand at 21-8 on the season.

In this week's D2 Baseball poll, UT Tyler ranks No. 9. The Lone Star Conference is well represented, with No. 4 Angelo State, No. 25 West Texas A&M, and St. Edward's receiving votes.

The ABCA Coaches Poll places the Patriots at No. 10, dropping from last week's No. 2 ranking. This marks the fifth regular-season ABCA poll, featuring additional LSC teams: No. 6 Angelo State, No. 17 St. Edward's, and No. 19 West Texas A&M.

UT Tyler also moved to No. 5 in the NCBWA Top 25 rankings, with Angelo State following at No. 9 and St. Edward's at No. 15.

The Patriots have showcased an explosive offense early in the season, ranking 6th in Division II in doubles with 63. They also stand 7th in hits, 16th in walks, and 12th in runs scored.

The pitching staff has been equally dominant, ranking 20th in Division II with a 3.89 ERA. They also rank 28th in shutouts with four and 13th in complete games thrown.

UT Tyler will return to action at Irwin Field, hosting Cameron for a four-game series beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
