TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler baseball heads into postseason play ranked inside the top 10 in the D2 Baseball, ABCA Coaches, and NCBWA national polls. The Patriots now boast a 41–9 record after completing a sweep of St. Mary's, extending their win streak to 14 games as they prepare for the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
In the latest D2 Baseball poll, the Patriots moved up one spot to No. 5. Lone Star Conference rival Angelo State remains at No. 1 and is the only other LSC team featured in the rankings.
The Patriots also held steady at No. 3 in this week's ABCA Coaches Poll, with Angelo State again leading the way at No. 1 as the only other LSC representative.
In the latest NCBWA rankings, UT Tyler holds steady at No. 5. Within the Lone Star Conference, Angelo State remains at No. 2, while St. Edward's continues to receive votes.
The Patriots have been a dominant force offensively, ranking fifth in NCAA Division II in total hits (560), eighth in runs scored, 14th in doubles, seventh in batting average, ninth in walks, and sixth in on-base percentage.
UT Tyler has also impressed on the mound and in the field. The pitching staff owns a 3.81 ERA—10th-best in the nation—while the defense ranks 25th nationally in double plays turned.
The Patriots will begin their postseason run by hosting Texas A&M-Kingsville in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
