UT Tyler Baseball Holds Top Ten Spot in National Rankings

TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler baseball remains firmly ranked in the top ten nationally, holding steady in both the D2 Baseball and ABCA Coaches polls. Despite a bye week, the Patriots slipped two spots in the latest NCBWA rankings. UT Tyler now boasts a 29–9 record on the season after securing a non-conference midweek win over Southern Arkansas.

In this week's D2 Baseball poll, the Patriots hold onto the No. 7 spot. The Lone Star Conference continues to be well represented, with No. 1 Angelo State and No. 19 St. Edward's included in the top 25, while West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian received votes.

The ABCA Coaches Poll also ranks UT Tyler at No. 6, unchanged from the previous week. The poll features four other Lone Star Conference programs: No. 1 Angelo State, No. 29 St. Edward's, and both West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian receiving votes.

In the NCBWA rankings, UT Tyler dropped from No. 5 to No. 7 following the bye week. Angelo State climbed to No. 3, while West Texas A&M and St. Edward's again received votes.

Offensively, the Patriots have been a dominant force. Prior to their break, they ranked second in Division II in total hits (411), seventh in runs scored, eighth in doubles, 10th in batting average, and 11th in walks.

On the mound and in the field, UT Tyler has been just as strong. The team owns a 3.82 ERA—10th-best in Division II—and ranks fifth nationally in double plays turned.

The Patriots return to Lone Star Conference action this weekend as they host Sul Ross State in a four-game series beginning Friday.
