The #3 seed Patriots fell to #7 seed Washburn on Friday as they wrapped up one of the best seasons in program history.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA – UT Tyler capped off a season that saw them go farther than ever before into the NCAA Tournament and put together the most wins in program history in a single season.

The match began in doubles, where the Ichabods started with a win in the #2 line before the Patriots rebounded with a 6-3 win in the #3 line thanks to Job Japelj and Trevor Short. However, Washburn would win the #1 line in tiebreaker fashion 7-6 (7-3) to move ahead 1-0 on the day.

Over in singles, the Ichabods would add two quick wins, taking the #2 line and the #3 line in scores of 6-4, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-3 to quickly move ahead 3-0.

The Patriots would rally, seeing Artiom Dorofeev, Daniil Felker, and Malo Poulesquen each take their first set as momentum started to balance back out in the match.

The Ichabods however would put together a big run in the #4 line, rattling off sets of 6-0 and 6-0 to close the match and earn the fourth point needed for the win on the day.

UT Tyler sets a new program record for wins with 24 as they finished 24-3 overall. The Patriots won their third LSC Regular Season title in program history and advanced into the NCAA Round of 16 for the fourth straight year, the Elite Eight for the second straight year, and into the Final Four for the first time in program history.
