TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler Baseball had three players named to the D2 Baseball All-American Teams on Monday afternoon. Nick Niebur earned First Team honors—his first All-American selection—while Drew Schmidt was named to the Second Team, and Kyle Froehlich landed on the Third Team with his first career nod.
Niebur adds the First Team selection from D2 Baseball after previously receiving an Honorable Mention from the D2CCA All-American list. The senior right-hander turned in a dominant season out of the bullpen, making 25 appearances and tossing 51 innings with a 1.41 ERA. Opponents hit just .209 against him, and he allowed only two extra-base hits—all doubles—throughout the year.
Schmidt picked up his third All-American honor of the season, adding the D2 Baseball Second Team nod to his D2CCA Second Team and NCBWA Third Team selections. The sophomore shortstop shattered the single-season program hits record with 98 and posted a .410 batting average while starting every game for the Patriots.
Froehlich rounded out UT Tyler's All-American selections with a Third Team spot—his first career All-American recognition. He led the Patriots' starting rotation with a perfect 10-0 record, a 2.75 ERA, and 75.1 innings pitched.
These honors cap a historic 2025 season for UT Tyler Baseball, which set a new program record with 49 wins and made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II College World Series.
