LAST TIME OUT
 
UT Tyler started their year with a 1-0 record after taking down DBU in their opening game last Thursday. The Patriots got a brilliant effort from goalkeeper Niclas Becker, who earned the shutout in his debut with the program. The lone goal came from Henrique Caputo, who scored his first goal with the Patriots to ultimately win the contest.
 
THE PRESEASON POLL
 
The Patriots were selected 7th in the 2025 Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, slipping just one spot back from their finish in the 2024 campaign. Midwestern State, St. Mary's, St. Edward's, DBU, and West Texas A&M made up the top five in the poll.
 
Oscar Sosa and William Kenne were selected as LSC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players to Watch.
 
THIS WEEK'S SLATE

The first game of the week will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. as the Patriots welcome the Mountain Lions to their home pitch. They are 1-1 overall after defeating Sul Ross State and falling to St. Mary's last weekend.
 
Nick Walker leads the team and is the lone goal scorer so far this season after scoring both goals against Sul Ross State in a 2-1 victory. Dillon Clarke, Diego Macias, and Miles Seminario have each recorded an assist. Hugo Sjöberg has played every minute in net thus far and has made five saves in two games.
 
As a team they are averaging 12.5 shots per game and posting a .360 shots on goal percentage. Their opponents are taking 10 shots per game and posting a .350 shots on goal percentage thus far.
 
COLORADO CHRISTIAN
 
The Cougars began the season 0-1-1 after tying South Dakota Mines and then falling to Northwest Nazarene. Leading the goal scoring is Lucas Peruzo, who has three goals in the two games thus far. Tiago Gomes and Salvador Fernandes have the other two goals. Gio Carneiro has recorded three assists, a team-high. In net, Campbell Wolfgram has played all 180 minutes thus far, recording four saves in his 0-1-1 start.
 
As a team, the Cougars are taking 8.5 shots per game while allowing 9 to their opponents. Their shots on goal percentage is .588 while their opponents is .556.
 
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
 
  • UT Tyler went 4-6-7 in 2024 and 2-2-6 in LSC play on their way to their third berth in the LSC Tournament in program history.
  • The only coach in program history, Kenny Jones, is in the midst of his 26th season as a head coach and 23rd season with the Patriots. He is 241-102-60 with UT Tyler and is 263-130-64 all-time.
  • 2024 All-LSC Honorees Oscar SosaDanny DeMarais, and Diego Cruz lead 14 total returners back into the fray as they look to push the program to the next step.
  • DeMarais led the team in goals in 2024 with five and in points with 12. Of the nine different goal scorers for the Patriots last season, four make their return, and those four accounted for 12 total goals.
  • As a team, the Patriots scored 1.24 goals per game last year and recorded a .410 shots on goal percentage.
  • Defensively, they held their opponents to 1.41 goals per game and a .386 shots on goal percentage.
