LAST TIME OUT
Last week the Patriots finished 1-0-1 as they drew with UCCS and then picked up a 1-0 win over Colorado Christian.
Luan Rangel scored a pair of goals against UCCS as the Patriots picked up the key result. On Saturday,
Niclas Becker earned his second shutout with the program while Noe Coutiño knocked in his first goal of the season on the way to a Patriots win.
THE PRESEASON POLL
The Patriots were selected 7
th in the 2025 Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, slipping just one spot back from their finish in the 2024 campaign. Midwestern State, St. Mary's, St. Edward's, DBU, and West Texas A&M made up the top five in the poll.

THIS WEEK'S SLATE
#14 ROGERS STATE
On Wednesday at 7 p.m. the Patriots will face off with the #14 ranked Hillcats. They have started the year 3-0-1 and drew level with #4 McKendree to open the season on September 4
th.
The Hillcats are scoring a goal per game thus far on 36 shots per game with a .528 shots on goal percentage. They have allowed just one goal so far and are holding opponents to 9.8 shots per game and a .359 shots on goal percentage.
All four goals have been scored by a different player in the early going. Only one has been assisted, and Kaleb Trussell holds that assist and a goal. In net, Jaxon Kendall has been a wall, making 13 saves in the four starts and posting three shutouts.
HARDING
The Bisons have started the year 1-2-1 with their lone win coming over Southwest Baptist and losses to William Jewell and Christian Brothers.
They are being outscored 4-3 on the year and are averaging 10.3 shots per game to their opponents 10.5 They are posting a .390 shots on goal percentage to a .548 shots on goal percentage for their opponents.
Nojus Grudis leads the team with a pair of goals in four starts. Jimmy Tuyishime has scored the lone other goal while three different players have recorded an assist. In goal, three different keepers have appeared in a game, while Rinner Stewart has seen the most action with three starts and 15 saves to his credit.
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
- UT Tyler went 4-6-7 in 2024 and 2-2-6 in LSC play on their way to their third berth in the LSC Tournament in program history.
- The only coach in program history, Kenny Jones, is in the midst of his 26th season as a head coach and 23rd season with the Patriots. He is 242-102-61 with UT Tyler and is 264-130-65 all-time.
- 2024 All-LSC Honorees Oscar Sosa, Danny DeMarais, and Diego Cruz lead 14 total returners back into the fray as they look to push the program to the next step.
- DeMarais led the team in goals in 2024 with five and in points with 12. Of the nine different goal scorers for the Patriots last season, four make their return, and those four accounted for 12 total goals.
- As a team, the Patriots scored 1.24 goals per game last year and recorded a .410 shots on goal percentage.
- Defensively, they held their opponents to 1.41 goals per game and a .386 shots on goal percentage.
- The Patriots are outscoring their opponents 4-2 in the early going of the season. Luan Rangel leads the team with two goals while Noe Coutiño and Henrique Captup have the other two goals.
