TYLER, Texas — The UT Tyler Women's Soccer Program battled the 11th ranked Midwestern State Mustangs to a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Citizens First Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex. It's the second straight game that the Patriots have finished the match in a scoreless draw, as UT Tyler moves to 7-4-4 overall and 7-3-3 in conference play with just one game left in the regular season.
UT Tyler created its first offensive push thanks to an Ella Anderson shot in the 11th minute and was followed up by a try by Audrey Varney in the 17th minute. Katie Wong would put the Patriots first shot on goal just before the end of the half as she ripped a chance that would be saved by the Mustangs goalkeeper.
It was a defensive test all day for the Patriots as they were outshot 21 to 5 overall but the back line of Arianna Johnson, Samantha White, Savanna Clark and Carson Glenn would stand strong helping Robbie Curry keep the Mustangs off the board. The senior keeper for UT Tyler continued her scoreless stretch to four straight games as she added five saves against the top ranked Mustangs.
The Patriots will wrap up their regular season at Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex as they host UT Dallas Tuesday, Oct. 27. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. as UT Tyler looks to climb the Lone Star Conference standings before they head into the conference tournament.
