Patriots Battle No. 1 Seed DBU in LSC Semifinal Loss for second straight season

UT Tyler defense limits top ranked offense, and now awaits the NCAA Tournament selection show.

DALLAS, TEXAS – UT Tyler women's soccer saw its LSC postseason run come to a close on Thursday evening, falling 1–0 to top-seeded and nationally ranked No. 1 Dallas Baptist in the Lone Star Conference Tournament Semifinals for the second straight season. Despite the result, the Patriots were able to limit DBU, who were averaging over three scores a game, to just a single goal for the second time in 2026 and third time all season.

DBU would start the game aggressive on the offensive end, taking three shots and collecting four corner kicks in the opening minutes. It would be a header in the eight minute that would give DBU the lead. However, UT Tyler's stellar back line, led by Arianna Johnson, Samantha White, Savanna White and Carson Glenn, would settle in and respond keeping DBU and their offensive aggression in check.

Robbi Curry continued her strong season as the Patriots senior kept the lead to one, making three of her five overall saves, late in the first half as the Patriots offense looked to reverse the pressure. Lexi Luff, Katie Wong and Danica Anaya all found space on the offensive end as they each sent shots toward the net in the first half.

After the break, the match turned in a defensive battle as neither team was able to grab any momentum with the Patriots limiting DBU, who ranks as one of the highest scoring offenses in the nation, to just a single shot.

The offense would come alive at the tail end of the game for UT Tyler as they sent all four of their second half shots to the net in a 10 minute span, starting in the 74th minute.

The offensive attack started off a shot from Ella Anderson after the Patriots drew a foul just outside of the box. Five minutes later, Lily Moreno would beat her defender off the dribble to find some space in the box, sending her shot towards the DBU keeper who had to make the save.

Then, in the 84th minute, Ava Harris would give the Patriots another chance, using some fancy footwork and speed to find some room on the right side of the pitch before sending a shot just wide of the net.

The Patriots depth would show up once again as 6 different players registered a scoring chance, as Lily Moreno led the team with two shots including one on goal. Both teams battled physically with each side picking up 13 fouls.

Now 8-5-5 overall, UT Tyler will await the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship selection show to learn whether the team earns a berth in the national tournament field.
